TOUR AGENDA FOR 2024

EXPEDITION MARANON - PACAYA (16 days+) IN NORTH-PERU

It is probably the expedition most of our adventurers have participated in. It took place in 2014 on the Norwegian television channel TV2 under the name "The Road to the Amazon." An incredible horseback riding/trekking journey through the majestic Andes, up and down, and through the isolated Maranon Valley, where we will stay with six different collective communities, all sustaining themselves at different soil levels and different climate zones. From there, down to the Amazon delta and out on the great rivers before entering the deep jungle. Concludes in the jungle city of Iquitos.

EXPEDITION CARAL-KOTOSH (16 days+) IN CENTRAL-PERU

On horseback and on foot, we follow a five-thousand-year-old trade route from the Pacific Coast and further over two Andean mountain ranges, descending to the transition between the Andes and the high jungle of the Amazon. There are significant contrasts in the Andes as we trek between 1900 and 5100 meters above sea level. This includes the white mountain range with peaks reaching six thousand meters, glaciers, and turquoise lakes. We stay with locals who sustain themselves at different soil levels and climate zones.

EXPEDITION URUBAMBA (16 days+) IN SOUTH-PERU

A unique journey through the high jungle and down to the low jungle before ascending to the Andes Mountains towards Cusco and Machupicchu. Accommodation and living, trekking/hiking, hunting and fishing, boat and canoe rides on rivers in the high and low jungle with two different Amazonian indigenous ethnic groups. We can choose comfort or trekking in the Andes Mountains all the way to Machupicchu or Choquequirao.

EXPEDITION VILCABAMBA (10 days+) IN THE REGION OF CUSCO

This is a new off-the-beaten-path expedition we established last year, far away from tourism but still in the "backyard" of Machupicchu. It's both a jungle expedition with rafting and a horse caravan journey up into the Andes mountains, reaching a hidden and isolated Inca town that can only be accessed on foot. This has been named "Expedition Vilcabamba," essentially two smaller expeditions in one, where both can actually operate independently of each other.

EXPEDITION CHOQUEQUIRAO (10 days) IN THE REGION OF CUSCO

Coex Amazon takes you on an eight-day horse caravan trek in the Peruvian Andes to the unique and secluded Inca city of Choquequirao, accessible only by foot. We will follow the west side of the Vilcabamba range, trekking on unique and untouched Inca trails. In the late afternoon, we finally come face to face with this unknown Inca jewel, and as we gaze upon this wonder, it's almost incomprehensible that, even on the seventh day, we have yet to encounter a single tourist.

EXPEDITION RAFTING TAMBOPATA (9 days) FROM THE ANDES DOWN TO THE AMAZON

Coex Amazon invites you to join a "once in a lifetime" beautiful nature adventure with a touch of adrenaline along the way. We will raft for six days from the transition of the Andes Mountains/high jungle in the Puno region, down the adventurous Tambopata River, leading us into the unique and untouched mega-diverse nature reserve Tambopata-Candamo in the low jungle before reaching the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado.
